Uneven tone is not one process. It is several, running at once. A formula that only interrupts one of them will always disappoint you slowly.
Four ingredients, four different jobs.
| 2% Alpha-Arbutin Encapsulated | Works on pigment production at the source. It is unstable in water, which is why it lives inside the spheres rather than loose in the gel. 2% is the researched dose — going higher is marketing, not chemistry. |
|---|---|
| 4% Tranexamic Acid | Aimed at the inflammatory trigger behind the marks that linger after a breakout or a summer of sun. Sits in the external phase where it is stable. |
| 10% Niacinamide | Reduces how much pigment reaches the surface, and supports the barrier while everything else is happening. Also the reason the formula stays tolerable twice a day. |
| 2% Gluconolactone (PHA) Encapsulated | A large, gentle polyhydroxy acid. It helps shed pigment that has already surfaced, and it holds water rather than stripping it. Encapsulated so it does not disturb the pH of the rest of the formula. |
| 10% Glycolic + 2% Salicylic Réveil, weekly | The weekly reset. Glycolic is the smallest AHA, so it works across the surface; salicylic is oil-soluble, so it works down the follicle. Buffered together to pH 3.6. |
| 1% Bromelain | A fruit enzyme that gently exfoliates alongside the acids, so neither has to be pushed to an uncomfortable concentration. |
Beyond the studied dose you get more irritation, not more result. And irritated skin makes more pigment, not less.
The myth is forty years old and came out of heated lab conditions. In a finished cosmetic on a human face, the chemistry never applied.
Over-using them does. Once a week with a sixty-second dwell is the entire design brief.
Your skin replaces its surface on its own schedule. You can help it along. You cannot rush it, and trying is how people end up worse off than when they started.
Perle, morning and evening. Cleanse, 2–3 pumps on dry skin, press the beads out, moisturiser. SPF every morning without exception — brightening without sun protection is a treadmill.
Réveil instead of Perle. Thin layer on dry skin, avoid the eyes, sixty seconds, rinse thoroughly, moisturiser.
Back to Perle. And SPF — mandatory after resurfacing, and for the week that follows.
